Bishop Thurman Williams Sr.

Bishop Thurman Williams, Sr. was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Under the tutelage of Bishop H.E. Cohill, Pastor of True Church of Holiness, he acquired his early beginnings of the knowledge of the Word of God through Sunday School, Bible Study, Youth Prayer Union and regular Worship Services for his first eighteen years of life. Bishop Williams graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Vocational High School in Chicago in 1983. In October 1983, Bishop Williams joined the United States Army and served for over fourteen and a half years. His duty stations included Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Knox, Kentucky, Germany, Korea, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Fort Hood, Texas where he has lived and worshipped for the past twenty seven years. Bishop Williams acquired his Bachelors of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College. June 2018, Bishop Williams graduated from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute (GMOR) Houston, Texas with his Masters of Science degree in Theology.

Bishop Williams began to preach the Word of God in August 2001 at the First Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Dr. John C. Robinson in Killeen, Texas. In April 2004, Bishop Williams heeded to the voice of the Holy Spirit, departed from First Church COGIC and established The Upper Room Deliverance Center where he is Senior Pastor. Bishop Williams is the overseer of Covenant Ministerial Alliance that consists of four churches and one ministry. Bishop Williams is the husband of Carolyn Julia Williams and they have six children and five grandchildren.
Bishop Williams speaks with authority and power and he releases the prophetic as the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ leads him. Bishop Thurman Williams stands on the Word of God, declares that everyone that believeth can be “healed, delivered, and set free” and is dedicated to outreach and kingdom building.


Elder Carolyn J Williams

Elder Carolyn Williams was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 14 at New Elizabeth Baptist Church. She served as an usher and choir member. She graduated from Baltimore City College High School in 1987 then joined the Maryland National Guard. She served in the guard as a radiology technologist. In 1991 she moved to San Antonio, Texas to attend St. Philip’s College school of Nursing where she obtained her license as a vocational nurse.
Elder Williams entered the Active Army in 1993. She was then sent to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. In the D.C. area she attended Grace Presbyterian Church. In 1999, she was sent to Germany. While in Dexheim, Germany she rededicated her life to the Lord while attending Greater Realness COGIC on Anderson Barracks Chapel under Pastor David Bradshaw. In 2000, at a revival, Elder Williams was filled with the Holy Spirit. She served in the local church as hospitality president and usher board member. She was then elevated to district hospitality president and later jurisdictional vice president under Bishop Moody and Mother Watson. In 2002, Elder Williams was appointed as the Women’s Representative for Greater Realness COGIC under Pastor Iszell Burth.
In 2003, she was sent to Fort Riley, Kansas. There she attended Fellowship Temple COGIC under the leadership of Pastor James Boyer. She worked faithfully in carrying out work with the Sunday school, Sunshine Band, Choir, Nurses’ unit, Usher Board, Hospitality Unit and Prayer Circle. She continued her work ministering to women as she assisted Mother Edna Boyer with preparing women’s retreats, meetings and conventions.
While stationed at Fort Riley. Sister Williams deployed to Bagdad, Iraq. She supported the Gospel Service at Ibn Sina Hospital. Elder Williams ministered through Mime and Choir. She was also one of the Prayer Warriors and led a Women’s Bible study with the support of Chaplain Robert Leathers.
In 2011, Elder Carolyn Williams was sent to Yong San, Korea. She served under Superintendent Billy R. Stephens and District Missionary Laura Stephens at Genesis COGIC in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. She continued to serve in the Sunday school, Children’s Church, Choir, Hospitality and Prayer Warrior. While in South Korea, Elder Williams answered her call as an Evangelist Missionary through the Church Of God In Christ.
Elder Williams was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. She attended New Life Prayer and Fellowship COGIC serving with Pastor Robert Curtis and Lady Elect Cecilia Curtis. She diligently worked facilitating Sunday School and Mime Ministry.
On April 15, 2018 under the auspices of The Upper Room Deliverance Center and the Bishop Thurman Williams, Sr., Elder Carolyn J. Williams was ordained as Elder into the Gospel Ministry.
She is now retired from the Army after 27 years of service and continues to work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She is married to Bishop Thurman Williams, Sr., Pastor of The Upper Room Deliverance Center. Together they have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. While working along side her husband, she continues to expanding her work with the Women’s Department and in the fields of Missions and Evangelism.
Elder Williams lives life walking by faith not by sight being steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that her labor is not in vain in the Lord.
